Community Advisory Board - Now Recruiting!

Are you interested in telehealth and community engagement? We are currently recruiting members for our Research Community Advisory Board (CAB) with the Achieving Chronic Care Equity by Leveraging the Telehealth Ecosystem (ACCTiVATE) study!

The ACCTiVATE study team is looking for 8-10 patients and caregivers to join the CAB. The study goal is to help clinics use telehealth to improve care for people with diabetes. Community Advisory Board (CAB) members will work in collaboration with the study team and will provide a telehealth equity expert perspective on various aspects of the project including the study design, implementation, and dissemination of results. No prior knowledge/experience in research is required. CAB members will be compensated for their time. They will have the opportunity to learn about research and support in making the study more patient-centered, relevant, and impactful.

Requirements:

· Experience with managing patients with diabetes and/or hypertension as a worker (nurses, medical assistants, clinicians, public health officials, staff/faculty in informatics, etc.)

· Experience working with patient populations in San Francisco Health Network (does not need to be currently employed by SFHN)

· Experience with telehealth/telemedicine and telehealth equity

Time Commitment:

· Up to 3-4 meetings a year, from 2024 – 2029. Note: meetings may be more frequent in the early portion of grant

· In-person and virtual meetings

Key Responsibilities:

· Attend meetings (could be both in-person and virtually). Virtual Zoom meetings will require access to a phone, computer, and internet connection

· Actively participate in discussion of research materials

· Review materials prior to meetings as requested

· Provide feedback on study plans and documents including protocols, recruitment and consent materials and results dissemination strategies

· Help shape communications for the broader health care community on study progress and findings

· Be available to communicate with the study team via email and phone in between meetings as needed

Compensation:

Compensation of $75 (gift card) per meeting + $30 vouchers for transportation and childcare (in-person only). Lunch will be provided for in-person meetings. Meal funds will be provided for those attending virtual meetings.
